Kaitlin Smrcina
Inside/Outside
April 13 - April 19, 2020
Kaitlin Smrcina works with non-functional forms that strive to simplify fine art sculptures in a satirical way, making art objects more visually accessible and appealing to any audience. With Inside/Outside, Smrcina reflects on how isolation as a result of the pandemic can alter our perspectives on things/objects, especially those that once went unnoticed or are even boring. In this work, she has been practicing a daily meditation of repeating patterns, such as those found in wood grain, to see how the same motif changes with her state of mind.
